Department Of Housing EHRP-Emergency Heating Repair Program
The Emergency Heating Repair Program is closed as of April 1, {{curYear}}. The program will reopen November 1, {{curYear}}. ATTENTION
Eligible properties must be located in Chicago, habitable, owner-occupied, and not at risk of foreclosure. The applicant's name must be listed on the deed to the property for a minimum of one year at the time of application. All applicants that are income qualified Households earning 80% or less of the area median income (AMI) are eligible to participate in the program. The total gross income of all owners and other household members shall be included and many not exceed this limit. The gross income of all adults, 18 and older, who reside in the property, are included to determine income eligibility. All utilities must be current and in working order. If the owner sells, transfers title, or no longer occupies the property within one year of receiving the service, the owner will be required to repay a prorated portion of the grant.
